# Purpose

The $EARNS token has one primary objective: driving increased ecosystem engagement.

Increased ecosystem engagement accomplishes two goals:

1. Generating more revenue for the the ecosystem's game studio partners, which in turn generates more revenue for the ecosystem itself; and
2. Helping individual users more effectively monetize their time, including from sources outside the Earnscape ecosystem, which also generates more revenue for the ecosystem itself.

## Partners

Earnscape uses the power of the community to ensure great games are successful.

Games need players. **New games have a lot of competition** for players. Partnering with Earnscape ensures games get the players they need.

As Earnscape users engage with partner games, their metrics increase. This makes them more successful and enables them to **generate more revenue**.

The $EARNS token increases those engagement levels further. That boosts game revenue and metrics even further.

Since the primary revenue for the ecosystem comes from these partnerships, and **the $EARNS token greatly boosts the value the ecosystem delivers to partners**, this makes the entire ecosystem more successful.

## Users

The $EARNS token empowers community members to monetize their time more effectively.

There are many ways the token accomplishes this, and not through speculation. The token is *earned* and need not be bought. The value of *using* the token exceeds the value of *selling* it.

Using $EARNS unlocks ways for community members to earn substantial revenues and potentially make a living as a professional gamer. Active participation is thus greatly rewarded.

Since the ecosystem itself benefits from this increased engagement and external monetization offered by gamers who *use* rather than *sell* their $EARNS, this further benefits **everyone** including **other gamers, ecosystem partners, and the ecosystem itself**.

The core guiding philosophy that generates this value is that of ***active participation***.
